The Springfords client service team to the Edinburgh International Film Festival, a long standing client, were fortunate enough to be invited to attend the festival's opening night gala and international premiere in June of "Away We Go" a Sam Mendes film. The photograph shows Alan Jones and Findlay Paul posing on the red carpet at Cineworld in Edinburgh, trying to look more arty than accountant. You can judge for yourself how successful they were.
On the walk down the red carpet they followed not long after festival Patron and acting legend Sir Sean Connery, but didn't seem to attract as much attention from the long line of press and TV cameras. A number of other stars attended the premiere including the film's leading man John Krasinski, Scottish actor Alan Cumming, actress Kerry Fox and Sam Mendes himself.
The festival, which is the longest continuously running film festival in the world, previously ran concurrently with the main Edinburgh festival season in August but was held in June for the second time this year, a move which has been judged a success.
