In recent years we have seen a significant increase in demand for tax-planning advice.
We are therefore delighted to be able to announce the recruitment of Bryan McCreadie and Nana Osei-Oppong to our growing tax team increasing the number of our tax specialists to 14.
Having been brought up around a family business, and worked there since I was knee high, I quickly came to realise the importance of the accounting side of a business. I studied accountancy in Edinburgh and, having discovered tax, thereafter joined a Big 4 firm of accountants in Edinburgh, working in their Corporation Tax department.
When the opportunity arose to join Springfords, I was immediately impressed by the ‘beyond the numbers’ approach to client service delivery; where the client is made aware of the reasoning and rationale behind various services and where improvements are continually sought which will bring benefits to their business. I was also struck by the common sense ethos that prevails throughout the firm. This approach really makes the difference to the level of personal service that the client receives and builds a trust which, as I know from experience, is an extremely important factor for many companies as they juggle with busy schedules.
At Springfords, I will continue to focus on Corporation Tax, primarily in a compliance capacity but also through advisory projects, whilst also becoming involved with Personal Tax for corporate client Directors. This should ensure that there is a well informed and smooth transition between these two services. Another example of forward thinking for client service improvement at Springfords!
I'm originally from Glasgow where I obtained an MA (Hons) degree in Economics with Business Economics at the University of Glasgow. After graduation, I moved up north to Aberdeen for my first taste of the world of accountancy with a firm of accountants in the role of corporate tax.
After successfully completing my exams and gaining experience in corporate tax, I was given the opportunity of to move to the city of Edinburgh (still on the East coast you’ll note!!) and to work for Springfords which was an opportunity that I couldn't pass up.
It has now been five months since I started at Springfords and I'm really pleased to have made the move south. The staff here are really friendly and I'm gaining invaluable experience working with such interesting clients…..oh and living in Edinburgh ain't bad either!
