Geckotech Solutions Ltd is an Edinburgh based specialist access contractor who supply access engineering solutions including industrial rope access (a method of access derived from a mixture of climbing and caving techniques), tension netting systems and confined space entry.
As you can see from the picture opposite, the staff get themselves into some hair raising situations working on many exciting and diverse projects such as painting the iconic Forth Rail Bridge, installing the Totem adventure structure in the Ocean Terminal shopping centre (you may already have climbed your way to the top of this!) and more recently assisting with the installation of the critically acclaimed Turner Prize piece, Susan Philipsz – Lowlands Sound Installation.
Using ropes and harnesses areas can be accessed quickly, often for a fraction of the cost of traditional methods. The work is often dangerous and safety is of paramount importance with every job meticulously planned, working in the challenging fields of oil and gas, construction, railways, sports stadia and renewable wind.
Geckotech has been growing rapidly since 2006 with Managing Director, Stephen Pearson often barely able to hang on to the speeding roller coaster! Stephen told Springfords recently “Thankfully I do hang on and owe it all to my great team and companies like Springfords who take care of everything leaving me free to do my job confident in the knowledge I have professionals there to guide me when I need it. This business truly could not have succeeded without the hard work from everyone involved in it.”
