Two of Springfords staff have proved themselves to be made of sterner stuff this year:
In May, Findlay Paul, an Associate in our Corporate Group, along with members of Falkirk Round Table and Larbert and Falkirk 41 Club, set themselves a target to collect £10,000 for the Anthony Nolan Trust, a charity which supports those with blood cancer by finding suitable bone marrow donors. Amazingly, the total raised to date is well over £15,000. How did they do it?
They set out to cycle from The Falkirk Wheel to Lands End! Findlay cycled 455 miles out of 590 miles (77%) over 5 days (originally planned for 6 days but quickly reduced to 5 when Falkirk got through to The Scottish Cup Final), cycling to Carlisle from Falkirk on day one, 115 miles!
Many people donated generously to the team along the way and emotions were running high when they met up with Deniole and his family at Warrington Rugby League Stadium. Former Table member Barrie Henderson, of Extreme Karting in Larbert, donated bone marrow to Deniole in 2012.

On Saturday 23 May, Jennifer Smith, Senior Account Manager in our Business Group, took to her heels again to tackle the Red Rose 100 - this year's 100 mile walk, organised by LDWA (Long Distance Walks Association), started and finished at The Anderton Centre, Near Rivington Reservoir in Lancashire. Some interesting numbers from her weekend:
Jennifer said "Hallucinations started around dusk on the second night! Acrobats dressed in white on a railway carriage. Initially concerned but then disappointed when I realised they weren't actually there!".
Jennifer has decided to give 2016 a miss but will consider doing it all again in 2017.
