Another Bumper Year for Charity at Springfords

13 April 2017

Springfords Employee Charity Committee were delighted with the total of £3,542 they raised in 2016 and were happy to be able to support the following impressive list of good causes which were nominated by partners and staff:-

  • Children In Need
  • Sports Relief
  • Marie Curie
  • Wear It Pink
  • Jeans for Genes
  • Macmillan/Make A Wish/Save the Children - Text Santa
  • Loveoliver (childhood cancer research)
  • Falkirk Round Table (380 mile cycle in aid of prostrate and breast cancer)
  • Amuse Me Playgroup (playground equipment)
  • Brain Tumour Action Ednburgh
  • St Columba's Hospice
  • The Finola Trust

A donation of £300 also went to Lothian Special Olympics team who're heading off to Sheffield for the National Games which are being held there from 7th to 12th August 2017.  Springfords have previously supported Sophie Connor from Bonnyrigg (pictured here with her medals from previous games) when she competed in the swimming competition, however this time Sophie will compete in the ten-pin bowling.  Good luck Sophie - we'll catch up with her again later in the year to find out how she gets on.

Fundraising events have already started for 2017 with a Comic Relief Bake-Off, raising nearly £200.  Pictured below is our new Bake-Off champion, Emma Logan, receiving her trophy from last year's winner, Hazel Mackay.

Lots more planned for 2017, including a Eurovision themed event - though still a long way to go to beat the 2016 total!
