Members of the Douglas-Hamilton family have lived, farmed and nurtured Archerfield Estate since the 1960s and with the creation of Archerfield Walled Garden; the Garden Cafe, Gift Shop, Food Market, Microbrewery, Fairy Trail, running routes and outdoor trails, their legacy is breathing new life into this historic Estate in the heart of East Lothian.
The actual walled garden is immaculate with large blooming flower beds, a wildlife area and a vibrant vegetable garden that provides delicious ingredients for the buzzing Garden Café.
The Food Market offers the very best of local produce, and there is also a Gift Shop with a fabulous range of products covering homewares, kids, beauty, fashion, cards and much more.
You can explore amazing trails and running routes, plus the Willow Walk and a magical Fairy Trail for the little ones. With the John Muir Way passing through the estate, and the Bike Hub onsite offering social rides and bike hire, the options to get out and about are endless.
At the relaxing bar, you can try the famous Archerfield Craft Ales or you can take a tour of the onsite microbrewery. There’s also a packed schedule of events throughout the year including outdoor theatre, street food festivals, live music, and educational events for kids.
Ross McGregor, Operations Director, says, “We’ve been working with the outsourcing team from Springfords for the last 3 years. They process our payroll and invoices, and do our management accounts. Through a significant period of growth, Springfords have supported us every step of the way which has enabled Archerfield Walled Garden to become a premier visitor destination in East Lothian.”
