Springfords accounting team

Your business is your baby and, as it grows, it will become more demanding (and more rewarding!) It’s needs will change and it will increasingly take up more of your time.

Our staff are here to support you at every stage in that development process - whether that’s helping you set up a bookkeeping system as you start up, or preparing financial projections to help you attract additional funding as you grow.

Your baby is safe in our hands.

Carol Wright is one of our Accounting team partners.

Sue Bird - Sue is an Associate at Springfords and has worked for over 12 years in the Business Group, providing accountancy and business advisory services to her clients.  She has a wealth of experience working with owner managed and family businesses over a wide range of industry sectors. Sue’s satisfaction in work comes from helping business owners achieve their goals. When not working, Sue is a regular visitor to the gym and enjoys long distance walking, travelling, (watching) rugby and reading crime fiction (preferably with a glass or two of wine)

Alison Cameron – After graduating from Napier University with a BA (Hons) in Accounting , Alison began her training with a general practice firm in Edinburgh. She joined Springfords in 2011, and specialises in preparing financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and small companies. Alison is currently working towards her ACCA qualification, with only one exam still to pass. Outside of work and after her studying, Alison enjoys spending time with her friends and family and enjoying the odd glass of wine.

Caroline Morgan - After graduating from Heriot Watt with a MA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance, Caroline completed her ACCA training with a general practice firm in Edinburgh before moving to Springfords in March 2015.  Caroline enjoys looking after the day to day needs of a wide portfolio of clients, and has over 10 years’ experience working with owner-managed SME clients.  Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and her young daughter, cheering on her favourite football team, and enjoying the occasional glass of wine.

Colin Soutar – Colin has 20 years experience working in the accountancy profession and 19 years of those have been with Springfords,  where he is currently a Senior Account Manager within the Business Group.  Colin prepares management accounts, financial accounts and cash flow projections for a wide portfolio of clients.  Outside of work, Colin enjoys spending time with his family and pursuing his passion for  home baking and jam making (if we’re lucky we get to do some tasting too!)

Emma Logan - After graduating from Heriot Watt University in 2013 with an MA (Hons) Degree in Accountancy and Business Law, Emma began working as a Finance Assistant in a distribution firm, to build on the skills she had gained from working in a small accounting practice for over two years whilst studying.  She joined Springfords in March 2014 and now processes accounting information and prepares VAT Returns for a wide variety of clients.  Outside of work, Emma is a keen bowler and plays as part of the Scottish International team.  As well as bowling she enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Iain Beveridge – Iain joined the firm in 2000 as an account manager working in the Business Group. In 2005, he left us to work as a financial controller in the construction industry, but was missing us so much, he rejoined Springfords 2 years later. Iain's experience working in industry has proved to be very useful in his current role, as he undertakes regular management reporting work for several of our clients’ businesses as well as managing a varied portfolio of clients. Outside work Iain enjoys travelling, walking and skiing ( when he gets a chance!)

Jennifer  Smith – Jennifer qualified as a CA in 1995 and has over 20 years' experience in general practice. She joined Springfords in 2005 and is responsible for a portfolio covering a wide variety of owner-managed SME clients. Her role includes preparation and audit of statutory accounts and preparation of quarterly management accounts, as well as assisting clients with other financial advice such as financial forecasting. Outside of work, she enjoys walking (both long distance and walking her dogs, who are not so keen on the long distances!), going to the gym and, as she's always looking for a new challenge, has just recently taken up running.  When not out exercising she also enjoys spending time at home with her husband, two dogs (Ben & Murphy) and a glass or two of wine!

Julie Leckie - Julie is a qualified chartered accountant who has been with Springfords for 23 years. Julie has worked in our audit and corporate finance divisions and laterally joined our financial management team 10 years ago. She provides regular management reporting services to a number of clients and attends their Board meetings, as well as preparing detailed financial projections when required. Her length of service indicates that she clearly enjoys her role, which offers wide variety and allows her to really get to know her clients. Outside of work she enjoys a busy family life, is Treasurer to two local children’s charities and, when time allows, makes a fairly inconsistent effort to keep fit!

Laura Houston - After graduating from Napier University with a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance , Laura began her training with a general practice firm in Edinburgh and worked there for over 12 years. She joined Springfords in January 2016, and specialises in preparing financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and small companies. Laura was a keen footballer and played at semi-professional level for Hibernian Ladies for many years and even captained the team. However, she has now hung up her boots to spend time with her family and young son.

Linda Beveridge – Linda trained as an accountant over 25 years ago, while working in practice. After having her family she worked freelance for a number of clients, charities and community groups and retrained as a nursery nurse. She continued to work freelance and part time in a nursery before joining Springfords in 2012 as an accounts processor. Linda enjoys processing the records of a wide variety of clients, as well as preparing VAT returns and managing sales & purchase ledgers, both within the office and at clients’ premises. Outside of work, Linda has a busy family life, is involved with Girlguiding and enjoys meeting up with friends, gardening, walking and reading.

Lynn Douglas - Lynn began working with Springfords 19 years ago.   After deciding on a career change from nursing, and going back to college, she initially started work as a processor for the Business Group and has been an Account Manager within that department for the past 14 years.  Lynn looks after a wide range of clients from various business sectors, preparing financial accounts and management accounts as well as assisting in the preparation of VAT returns. Outside of work, Lynn is kept fairly busy with family (two young grandsons in particular) but tries to make time for a spot of reading and the occasional walk with friends.

Nadine Blackhall - Nadine started with Springfords in September 2014 as an accounts assistant in our Business Group.  Nadine holds a HNC and HND in Accountancy and received the 2006 Springfords prize at her Graduation from Patricia Reekie.  Outwith work she enjoys spending time with her two daughters who, at 5 and 6, keep her on her toes.
