Corporate Tax team

Corporate Tax

Whether you need help with completing the forms and paying the dues, reducing your tax liabilities, or using complex strategies and structures to help preserve income, business value and wealth, our team can help.  And our contact network gives us access to like-minded tax professionals in the UK and around the world.

Jimmy Hair is our Corporate Tax team partner.

Dave Lochhead - Dave is a fully qualified Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser. Having joined Springfords in 2006, he spends his working hours dealing with our corporate clients’ tax and VAT affairs. In addition to handling routine compliance matters (including investigations and enquiries) Dave is committed to identifying opportunities to reduce our clients’ tax burden wherever possible. Dave is also one of our ICFIB-trained members, and therefore well-placed to deal with the inevitable issues that arise in family businesses.

Outside of work, and when family life permits, Dave is a keen photographer and has just discovered a new interest – cable wakeboarding (a mix of snow-boarding and water-skiing). Having been away from the hills for far too long, and encouraged by the latest addition to his family – a 9-week old Cocker Spaniel – Dave hopes also to return to his other passion in life, hill-walking.

Gillian Black

I joined Springfords in April 2016 and immediately fitted in as I had worked with several members of the corporation tax team in previous positions I have held! I have worked in practice for over 20 years and am a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians. I trained at one of the big four accountancy firms and subsequently worked in small and mid-tier firms.

Outwith work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and step-daughter and socialising with friends (often while sampling the latest flavour of Gin, with a refreshing glass of tonic!)

Gillian Currie - Gillian is a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians and has over 20 years' experience in looking after the tax affairs of owner managed businesses, specialising in both their corporate and personal tax issues.  She initially trained with a big 4 firm, moving to other small and medium sized firms to gain a broad range of expertise with all sizes of corporate clients.  Outside of work, she is a mum to two active teenage boys and in her spare time enjoys going to the gym, cycling, skiing and travelling.

Kevin Meaney - After spending over three years as a Tax Partner with the national professional services firm, Baker Tilly, Kevin joined Springfords as our new Director of Tax in August.

Kevin joined Baker Tilly as a Partner following the sale of his previous business in 2011 and prior to that he spent 10 years with PwC.  He commenced his career in taxation working for the, then, Inland Revenue.

Kevin has over 30 years experience advising businesses, corporate and non-corporate, high net worth individuals, Plc’s and listed groups.

Outside of work he enjoys playing golf, reading and has a lifelong devotion to Hibernian FC.

Pamela Robertson – Pamela is a qualified CTA and also an ATT member. She specialises in corporate tax, enjoys working with a wide variety of companies – small to large, manufacturers to investors – and has a keen interest in property businesses in particular. As well as preparing and reviewing personal, partnership and company tax returns, she also provides tax planning and transactional advice. She is a valued member of the Springfords e-newsletter committee and has been known to write the odd (always helpful!) tax article for this. Outside work, she enjoys reading, walking and swimming and has just discovered the pleasure (and frustration!) of gardening.
